CEO and Founder

OpenHeadend was created in 2011. Our founder Christophe Massiot is one of the original creators of VLC media player, used by more than 100 million users and expert in software engineering and television. His goal is to bring broadcasting solutions to a revolutionary level. 

Christophe Massiot is part of the original developers of the open source project VLC media player during his studies in the Centrale Paris. His contribution to VLC made him one of the most renowned and recognized experts of video software. After developing the Freebox and working with Canal+, he has  developed Upipe – flexible dataflow framework – an Open Source project which is the cornerstone on which OpenHeadend is leaning on.

    Creation of VLC Media Player

    Christophe Massiot is part of the initial team of VideoLAN project in Ecole Centrale of Paris, later becoming VLC.

    Founding of OpenHeadend

    Creation of OpenHeadend in Paris
