OpenHeadend was founded in 2011. The two founders, longtime experts in computer science and television industry, offer a technology solution that revolutionizes the world of broadcast.
Christophe Massiot, co-founder of OpenHeadend was one of the first developers to participate in open source VLC project while he was still in Centrale Paris. His contribution to the VLC development allows him today to be recognized by his peers as one of the French video experts (Tarik Krim’s Report on French developers handed to Fleur Pellerin early April). He also developed Upipe – flexible dataflow framework – an Open Source project which represents a major technological brick for OpenHeadend.
After devoting a large part of his career to the world of television, Mourad Redouane entrepreneur at heart, created a company named DVMR in 2009, with the firm conviction that Internet would become a future broadcasting mode. Aware of the dynamics of the sector and perpetual technological transformations, DVMR could only be developed based on these different evolutions (IPTV, VOD, Catch up TV, diffusion multidevices). He therefore naturally cofounded OpenHeadend in order to become an actor in technological developments within the sector.
